✦ Synopsis

On behalf of my fellow officers and councilors of the American Peptide Society, I am very pleased to welcome you to the 19 th American Peptide Symposium. The American Peptide Society was founded in 1990 as the result of the rapid growth of peptide-related research. The Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing and promoting knowledge of the chemistry and biology of peptides and proteins. A major component of this charter is the biennial symposium. Jeff Kelly, Tom Muir, and their associates have organized an exciting program for us this week based on the timely theme "Understanding Biology Using Peptides.
