BOOTH? and J. HEWITT: h new model of hydrogen dtision in iron and steel is proposed, based upon the assumption of an equilibrium between interstitial hydrogen and hydrogen present as a molecular gas in voids. The model accurately predicts the anomalous variation in the diffusion rate of hydrogen with temperature, together with an equilibrium gas pressure in the voids. The temperature dependence of this pressure is seen to correspond closely to the variation of embrittlement with temperature, as measured by Baldnin and Toh. Le modele prevoit de fapon precise la variation anormale de la vitesse de diffusion de l'hydrogene avec la temperature en meme temps q'une pression d'equilibre du gaz dans les cavites. La variation de cette pression avec la temperature correspond tout Q fait a la variation de la fragilisation avec la temperature, telle que Baldwin et Toh l'ont mesuree. Des RIodell sagt sehr genau die anomale Temperatumbhangigkeit der Diffusionsrate des Wasserstoffs und einen Gleichgewichtsgasdruck in den Hohlraumen voraus. Die Temperaturab. hangigkeit dieses Druckes hitngt eng mit der von Baldwin und Toh gemessenen Temperaturabhlngigkeit der VersprGdung zusammen.
