Abstract

In this paper, we present a hybrid coordinate FDTD scheme, in which we insert a local conformal coordinate system which conforms with the scatterers in a Cartesian coordinate system, when there exists a nonrectangular scatterer in the Cartesian coordinate system. We propose a new interpolation scheme in the overlap region to achieve low reflection from the interface between the built‐in and Cartesian regions. The numerical experiment demonstrates that this scheme has a significant improvement in the staircasing approximation. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 30: 114–116, 2001.

We consider a model explicit fourth-order staggered finite-difference method for the hyperbolic Maxwell's equations. Appropriate fourth-order accurate extrapolation and one-sided difference operators are derived in order to complete the scheme near metal boundaries and dielectric interfaces. An eige

A comprehensive simulation procedure is presented for describing the behaviour of high-frequency "eld e!ect transistors (FETs). It combines a circuit model of the intrinsic part of the device with a hybrid "nite elements/"nite di!erences (FE/FD) technique directly implemented in time domain (TD). Th

## Abstract In this article, a three‐dimensional (3‐D) Crank‐Nicolson finite‐difference time‐domain (CN‐FDTD) method combined with conformal mapping method is used to analyze the cavities with curved surface. The improved formalism in the CN‐FDTD is described and both time‐domain waveforms and reso
