Abstract
The design and construction of a highly sensitive katharometer is described with special reference to the application of the instrument for the precise determination of traces of ethylene by gas chromatography. Factors influencing katharometer sensitivity, and the relative advantages and disadvantages of katharometers as compared with other types of detectors, are discussed.
