โฆ Synopsis
The design and application of a high-pressure sample cell is described for circular dichroism studies of molecular systems that undergo conformational change with application of high pressure. Mechanical and optical problems in highpressure cells, safety considerations in cell design, and the pressurizing system are discussed. Operating procedures developed to yield reproducible data and the results of a trifluoroethanol solution of a derivative of gramicidin A used as an example are outlined.
