For the purpose of estimating accurately heat of vaporization at 298 K(AHz,298), this paper proposes a group contribution method based on the quasi-chemical lattice theory. The precision of the proposed method is higher than that of any previous group contribution method. The mean deviation between calculated and experimental AH i,298 1s only 1.1% for the 288 hydrocarbons and l-substituted

hydrocarbons examined. The method can also be applied to the estimation of AH:,,,, for multi-substituted hydrocarbons.
