## Abstract Hydromagnesiation of alkylarylacetylenes **1** in diethyl ether gave (__E__)‐α‐arylvinyl Grignard reagents **2**, which reacted with arylselenenyl bromides **3** in THF to afford stereoselectively (__E__)‐1,2‐disubstituted vinylic selenides **4** in good yields. Β© 2005 Wiley Periodicals
