✦ Synopsis

Trichonhe (S) has been synthesized kom 1-hexadecanal(1) by two steps of consecutive olefmation. in which formylmethyltriphenylarsonium bromide (2) and (pyrrolidinecarbony1)methyltriphenylarsonium bromide (4) were used in the presence of potassium carbonate. The product was obtaioed in pure ( 2E,4E) configuration, and the overall yield reached 87%.
