## Abstract A modified microstrip‐fed planar monopole antenna with an open‐circuited coupled line is presented in this paper. The operational bandwidth of the proposed antenna covers the 2.4‐GHz ISM band (2.42–2.48 GHz) and the 5‐GHz WLAN band (5–6 GHz). The radiating elements occupy a small area o

Abstract
A novel monopole rectangular printed antenna has been investigated. The simulated result shows wide operating impedance‐bandwidth at two different center frequencies which are verified experimentally with −10‐dB return loss bandwidth of about 3.17 GHz (4.19−7.36 GHz) and 2.43 GHz (8.695–11.125 GHz). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A printed inverted‐F monopole antenna excited using a microstrip‐coupled feed is presented. The monopole antenna and the microstrip‐coupled feed are printed on two sides of a dielectric substrate. The microstrip‐coupled feed comprises a 50Ω microstrip feed‐line and an open‐ended microst
## Abstract The monopole dumbbell‐shaped antenna fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line for ultrawideband (UWB) application is studied. By tuning the dumbbell‐shaped radiator and height of the feed gap (D), the monopole antenna has a 2:1 VSWR (return loss < 10 dB) from 2.89 to more than 15 GHz. The bandwidt
