2 shows a comparison of the reflection and transmission w x coefficients between our results and 2 , indicating a good ลฝ . agreement. We use the number of modes n s 4 in 12 and ลฝ . 13 in order to keep the numerical accuracy to within 1% error. The number of modes to be used in the numerical computation must be the number of the propagating modes plus at least one higher evanescent modes. This means that our closed-form series solution is fast convergent, and thus is amenable to numerical computation.

CONCLUSION

The E-plane T-junction in a rectangular waveguide is investigated using the Fourier transform and mode-matching technique. The closed-form solutions for the transmission and reflection coefficients are presented in a numerically efficient, fast-convergent series.
