โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

In this paper, a microstrip network of the feeding module used in diverse applications of an antenna for dualโ€band wireless localโ€area network (WLAN) operation is designed, fabricated, and measured. A wideband Wilkinson power divider with the defectedโ€ground structure (DGS) is integrated with a dualโ€band SPDT switch module in order to provide two individual signal paths for the input of a twoโ€element antenna array. Two DGS slots are etched on the ground plane in order to reduce the loss of chip resistors, improve the impedance bandwidth, and enhance the efficiency of the output power. According to the simulated and measured results, the feeding module can be operated at the 2.4โ€ and 5.2โ€GHz bands. ยฉ 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A simplified probe feed input impedance for a rectangular patch antenna based on the Green's function is used to design a dual frequency matched antenna. The predicted results at design frequencies of 1.9 and 2.4 GHz are in close agreement with experimental measurements. ยฉ 2009 Wiley Pe
