A design is given for a device that can carry up to four single crystals mounted on individual three-way goniometers for mutual alignment of their crystallographic planes. โฆ Synopsis
A design is described with which elastic and sufficiently uniform compression of singlecrystal specimens by ~ 0.4 to 0.5% can be achieved at liquid helium temperatures. The provision of a sliding side support for the specimen, which prevents shear deformations arising in the compression process, makes it possible to achieve deformations almost an order of magnitude greater than the limiting elastic deformations possible for free specimens.

## Abstract In the present paper we investigate the shear creep behavior of the single crystal super alloy CMSXโ4 at temperatures between 950 and 1100โยฐC and shear stresses ranging from 80 to 155 MPa. A double shear creep test technique is used to study the shear creep behavior of four specific mac
