✦ Synopsis

By continuously pumping tissue culture medium into roller bottles containing infected cells and continuously harvesting the spent medium. RNA tumor virus can be harvested conveniently within 20 min of its release from the infected cells. An apparatus used to collect Moloney mouse leukemia virus in such a way yielded up to 390 pg protein in purified virus (about I mg virus) from each liter of tissue culture fluid.

## Abstract Cordycepin (3′‐deoxyadenosine) was previously shown to inhibit virus production induced by iododeoxyuridine from murine fibroblasts (Wu et al., 1972). We now report that the inhibitory effect of cordycepin results in a reduction of the number of cells producing virus as measured by the

Development of a flow-through system for sediment toxicity testing has been difficult in part because of problems associated with the precision, and subsequent expense, necessary to create a pump that accurately delivers small amounts of overlying water. This article describes a novel continuous flo
