✦ Synopsis
The Fourier Transform, combined with the e-technique in synthesizing optimal controls for linear distributed regulator type problems, reduces the order of the simultaneous equations associated with the e-technique.
Summary--A computational scheme is presented in this paper to reduce the order of the simultaneous equations associated with the synthesis of optimal controls by means of the e-technique. The scheme is particularly applicable to linear regulator type problems for distributed systems. The systems considered are in discrete-time form and, hence, can be described by either difference or partial difference equations. The scheme is demonstrated by means of examples and the computational results of these examples are presented in detail. *
