Abstract

The influence of the window shape in the frequency response of electromagnetic crystals (ECs), made by etching a sinusoidal continuous pattern of constant period and variable amplitude on the ground plane of a microstrip line, is studied in terms of rejection level, bandwidth, side‐lobe level, and stopband abruptness. A new parameter, the equivalent number of periods, is found to be a good estimate of the increase in length needed to maintain the rejection level and bandwidth of the uniform structure, while reducing the secondary lobes by applying a window. The automatic derivation of word pronunciations from input text is a central task for any text-to-speech system. For general English text at least, this is often thought to be a solved problem, with manually-derived linguistic rules assumed capable of handling "novel" words missing from the system d

## Abstract In the paper the BEM and FEM results have been compared in the context of 2D electromagnetic field analysis in a zoned medium with eddy current subregions. The practical problem concerning the turbogenerator end region has been discussed. The magnetic flux density over the surface of th
