## Abstract This article firstly introduces a compact printed patch antenna with ultrawide bandwidth. The performance is achieved by placing the radiating patch above a rectangular notch cut in the finite ground plane edge. This fabrication provides an ultrawide impedance bandwidth and reduced ante

Abstract
The characteristics of an F‐shaped‐probe feeding a triangular patch antenna with a small‐size ground plane have been simulated and measured. A −10‐dB impedance bandwidth of 47% and an average gain of 6.4 dBi have been achieved. The phase of the far‐field over the bandwidth has been studied to analyze the distortion induced by the antenna on an ultra‐wideband (UWB) pulse signal. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The compact designs of a shorted triangular patch antenna embedded with a V slot are proposed and studied. A broadband V‐slotted triangular patch antenna with one shorting wall is initially constructed as a reference. By inserting an additional shorting wall to this reference antenna, a
## Abstract This article describes an effective mechanism for miniaturizing a microstrip triangular patch resonator. Measurement results show that the technique can yield ∼56% size reduction. The article also provides design equations which can be used to determine the size of discontinuity require
## Abstract This article describes a compact microstrip‐fed planar monopole antenna, which comprises of a semielliptic shape radiation element on a partially modified ground‐plane. This antenna is different from the traditional monopole antenna as its ground‐plane is arc‐shaped near the vicinity of
In the field analyses, two-cut patterns with a broadside pattern at 2.40 GHz and butterflylike patterns at 5.34 and 5.70 GHz are presented in the x-z cut, and the active current distributions of a real Poynting vector are obtained in order to present the performance of the proposed tree-shaped coupl
