β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel compact microstrip antenna design is demonstrated. By embedding meandering slots in the antenna's ground plane, it is observed that the resonant frequency of the microstrip antenna is significantly lowered, which can lead to a large antenna size reduction for a fixed frequency operation. In addition, enhanced impedance bandwidth and antenna gain are also observed for the proposed antenna. Details of the proposed design and experimental results of the constructed prototypes are presented and discussed.βΒ© 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 95β97, 2001.

## Abstract A novel forward and backward periodic microstrip antenna is presented and tested in this article. The experimental results show that the main lobe scans electronically from 140Β° to 30Β° in __yβz__ plane when the operating frequency increases from 3.2 to 8 GHz. The measured results show t
By using a shorting pin and meandering the circular patch, a compact circular microstrip antenna with a patch size of less than 10% of the con¨entional circular patch antenna can be easily obtained. The design of such compact circular microstrip antennas is described, and experimental results are pr
## Abstract This paper proposes a new method for designing a microstripβantenna reflectarray. The array is a set of slotted rectangular microstrip antennas with one or two vias connected to the ground plane. Different techniques may be used to control the phase of the reflected wave, either by adju
## Abstract An experimental study of the nearly square circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a rectangular ground plane is presented. Results indicate that circular polarization characteristics of the nearly square microstrip antenna are greatly affected by the different side lengths of the
