โฆ Synopsis
Artificial infestation of red clover seedlings with stem eelworms (Ditylenchus dipsaci KiiHN) has shown that the appearance of clear symptoms of susceptibility -thickened stems -is dependent on the number of eelworms that penetrate the plants . In order to obtain clear symptoms, 2-8 eelworms to each plant are sufficient . Large numbers of eelworms give rise to necrosis and death of the plants . In testing for resistance to stem eelworm in the breeding of clovers it is desirable to infest lightly and always to use inocula of the same concentration.
In this article attention is called to a quick and reliable method of determining the eelworm concentration in a suspension used for inoculation .
(It is assumed that the average size of the eelworms differs very little) .

## Abstract The dithiol (4โmethylโ1 : 2โdimercaptobenzene) reagent is more sensitive for the determination of molybdenum than is the more commonly used thiocyanate. A method is described for the determination of molybdenum in soils, in which dithiol is used for the final colorimetric estimation. Th
