✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A new FDTD model for a coaxial probe feed based on transmission lines is proposed. Both the metal probe and a material boundary at the transmission line to FDTD interface are accurately modeled. Comparisons with experimental data indicate a significant improvement compared with a previously published transmission‐line feed model. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A quasistatic FDTD source model for a monopole antenna dri¨en by a coaxial line is presented. In this model, the electric field of the excitation zone in the FDTD delta-gap model is replaced by a quasistatic electric field more closely related to the actual physical structure of the antenna feed reg

## Abstract The feed model is very important for microstrip antenna analysis using FDTD. In this paper, the feed model with coaxial probe is accurately and efficiently analysed in terms of the contour path technique, driving out the magnetic field modified equations and accomplishing the FDTD proce

## Abstract This article presents and compares the basic analytical expressions currently used to evaluate the probe impedance in coaxial‐fed microstrip patches. These expressions belong essentially to two different families, namely the quasi‐static models and the “two‐infinite‐parallel‐plates” mod
