## Abstract A modification of our previously reported^2^ gas chromatographic method of preparing vinyl‐^14^C~2~ chloride (^14^C‐VC) has been made. The procedure using 1,2‐dichloroethane‐^14^C~2~ obtained from New England Nuclear Corporation gave good yields of ^14^C‐VC as a gas mixture with helium.

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
^14^C‐labeled vinyl chloride (VC) was produced from ^14^C‐labeled trichloroethylene by an enriched, halorespiring culture, and purified using a hydrophobic column. This technically simple and economical method generated high yields of high‐purity radiolabeled VC. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
