โœฆ Synopsis

Feedback loop dominance is a critical tool in explaining how structure drives behavior. Current analytic tools for loop dominance analysis are tacit, not codiยฎed, unable to accurately identify dominant loops or inapplicable to most models. Most loop dominance analysis tools focus on model structure to link structure and behavior. We use a behavioral perspective to deยฎne dominance, improve descriptions of behavior patterns and identify two important and incompletely developed areas of feedback analysis: simultaneous dominance by multiple loops and shadow loop structures. An analytic procedure is presented, illustrated and compared to an alternative analysis method. An evaluation of the behavioral approach is the basis for identifying new issues and future research opportunities.

In this paper we propose an alternative approach to conjoint analysis (CA) based on the principal component analysis onto a reference sub-space (PCAR). Following this technique, the results of a CA are considerably enriched by some graphical interpretation tools and optimal synthesis of the individu

Sensitivity analysis has traditionally been applied to decision models to quantify the stability of a preferred alternative to parametric variation. In the health literature, sensitivity measures have traditionally been based upon distance metrics, payoff variations, and probability measures. We adv

The Instream Flow Incremental Methodology (IFIM) using the Physical Habitat Simulation (PHABSIM) system, has seen increasing application to the assessment of changes in aquatic habitats in the UK over the last 10 years. In particular, the model has been applied operationally to chalk streams (e.g. t
