✦ Synopsis
Using commercially available optical single fibres, a cryostat has been constructed which allows high resolution optical spectroscopy at liquid 3He temperatures. The advantage of the construction is that the heating due to external sources is largely restrained by avoiding optical windows and by spectral decomposition of the light before reaching the sample.
