## Abstract Cabeceira et al. recently presented a time‐domain analysis of wave propagation in a Tellegen medium [1]. Their analysis is ill‐founded because (i) the existence of any Tellegen medium is not tenable within modern electromagnetic theory; and (ii) the constitutive relations employed are n

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A TLM model suitable to simulate the propagation of electromagnetic waves in Tellegen media is presented. The angle tilt between electromagnetic field vectors, the intrinsic impedances and the effective parameters of the medium are computed. The results for a monochromatic source are in very good agreement with the analytical solution. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, a novel TLM algorithm for electromagnetic wave propagation in chiral media is presented. One of the main characteristics of the electromagnetic response of such media is the rotation of the polarization plane. The obtained TLM results for a monochromatic source are compared with the t
## Abstract A time‐domain solution of electromagnetic wave propagation in Tellegen materials is presented. The angle tilt between electric and magnetic fields, the phase speed of the wave, and the intrinsic impedance are computed when the medium is excited with a monochromatic source. The results a
## Abstract The work of Barba et al.1 is fatally flawed on two counts: (i) the existence of Tellegen mediums is unrecognizable in modern electromagnetic theory, and (ii) the time‐domain constitutive relations used in the commented upon work are noncausal. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Op
A transmission line matrix (TLM) model suitable to simulate the propagation of waves in moving anisotropic continuous media is presented. As is well known, an electromagnetic wave propagating in a general medium, moving with respect to its source, experiences a drag by the own medium, which involves
