✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C~13~H~8~Cl~3~N~3~O, was synthesized by the condensation reaction of 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde with 6-chloronicotinic acid hydrazide in a methanol solution. The Schiff base molecule displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=N and C—N bonds. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings is 5.5 (3)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N—H...O, C—H...O and C—H...N hydrogen bonds.
