✦ Synopsis


The title compound, C 17 H 14 O 4 ÁCHCl 3 , was isolated from the rhizomes of Kaempferia parviflora. The benzopyran-4-one ring system and the phenyl substituent are approximately coplanar. The crystal structure is stabilized bystacking interactions between the benzopyran-4-one ring system of inversion-related molecules stacked along the c axis, and C-HÁ Á ÁO and C-HÁ Á Á interactions.
