โฆ Synopsis
Two independent molecules (A and B) comprise the asymmetric unit in the crystal structure of the title compound, C 11 H 15 NO 2 . The cyclohexane ring adopts a boat configuration, as does the fused cyclohexene ring that bridges the cyclohexane ring. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular O-Hร ร รO hydrogen bonding between the hydroxyl H atom of molecule A and the ketone O atom of molecule B and vice versa. These link the molecules into chains running diagonally along the bc face of the unit cell.

The absolute configuration of the title compound, C 25 H 29 NO 4 S, has been determined unambiguously. The benzoyl group lies in an axial position and the oxazine ring adopts a chair conformation.
