✦ Synopsis
The absolute configuration of the title compound, C 25 H 29 NO 4 S, has been determined unambiguously. The benzoyl group lies in an axial position and the oxazine ring adopts a chair conformation. One of the interesting features of this structure is that the carbonyl group is nearly perpendicular to the -C-O bond.
Related literature
A similar N-tosyl-1,3-oxazine ring derived from pulegone has been reported to possess a boat conformation (Rochon & Breau, 1999).

In the title compound, C 12 H 13 NO 3 , the angles at the Csp 3 atoms in the vicinity of the morpholine ring are slightly strained, as indicated by the values of 113.08 (13) and 115.18 (14) for C-C-C angles and 106.98 (13) for the N-C-C angle.
The ring itself has a somewhat flattened twist-boat conformation. C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions join the molecules into a twodimensional network running parallel to the (101) plane.
