✦ Synopsis
In the title compound, [Cu(C 7 H 3 N 2 O 6 )(C 6 H 7 NO) 2 ](C 7 H 3 -N 2 O 6 ), the Cu II atom is coordinated by two chelating 2pyridylmethanol ligands and a monodentate 3,5-dinitrobenzoate anion, forming a square-pyramidal coordination polyhedron. The cation and neighbouring anion are connected by two very strong O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds to form an ion pair.

In the title compound, [Sn(C~4~H~9~)~2~(C~7~H~3~N~2~O~6~)~2~]·C~7~H~8~, the Sn^IV^ atom is in a distorted tetrahedral environment. The nitro groups are twisted slightly away from the planes of the attached benzene rings. The molecules are linked by intermolecular C—H...O interactions and short O...N
