Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) is a major neuropathological substrate in cerebral palsy. PVL is multifactorial. In previous studies, we and others showed that a cytokinemediated immune-inflammatory mechanism involving particularly tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-โฃ is implicated in etiopathogenesis.
