The title compound, [ZnCl~2~(C~26~H~20~N~2~)]Β·0.35H~2~O, consists of one mononuclear dichlorido(2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)zinc(II) molecule and a partial-occupancy water molecule. The Zn^II^ atom is coordinated by two N atoms of one phenanthroline molecule and two chloride ions i

β¦ Synopsis
In the crystal structure of the title compound (BCP), C 26 H 20 N 2 , the phenyl rings are rotated out of the phenanthroline plane, with torsion angles of 119.66 ( 14) and 117.06 ( 14) . The asymmetric unit consists of one half BCP molecule, which is located on a crystallographic twofold rotation.
