Á2C 2 H 6 O, was synthesized by the reaction of benzene and pyromellitic acid dianhydride. The acid molecule is centrosymmetric. There are intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds and C-HÁ Á Á interactions in the crystal structure.
The centrosymmetric title compound, [Na(H 2 O) 3 ] 2 -(C 22 H 12 O 6 )Á4H 2 O, was prepared by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution of sodium dibenzoylterephthalate. The uncoordinated water molecules are connected by intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds.
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C 30 H 30 O 6 Á-2C 5 H 5 N, contains one half-molecule of 2,5-bis(2,4-diethylbenzoyl)terephthalic acid (BDTA) and one pyridine molecule; the BDTA molecule is centrosymmetric and linked to the pyridine molecule by a strong intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen b
