✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 18 H 20 N 2 O 4 , has been characterized structurally by 1 H NMR and X-ray crystallography. The molecule is centrosymmetric. The two benzene rings are parallel to each other with a perpendicular interplanar spacing of ca 1.4 A ˚. Intramolecular O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds are formed between the oxime and hydroxy groups.
