## Abstract The reactions of 3‐acetoacetyl‐7‐methyl‐2__H__,5__H__‐pyrano[4,3‐__b__]pyran‐2,5‐dione with aromatic amines afforded 3‐(arylaminomethylene)‐6‐methylpyran‐2,4‐dione. Our results allowed the correction of the structures reported in the literature for the products of these reactions.
