Abstract
The reactions of 3โacetoacetylโ7โmethylโ2__H__,5__H__โpyrano[4,3โb]pyranโ2,5โdione with aromatic amines afforded 3โ(arylaminomethylene)โ6โmethylpyranโ2,4โdione. Our results allowed the correction of the structures reported in the literature for the products of these reactions.
