The title compound, C 15 H 13 N 5 O 2 , was synthesized by the reaction of 2-(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)acetohydrazide with 2hydroxybenzaldehyde. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into infinite chains by N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds. There is also an intramolecular O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bond.

In the title compound, C 11 H 13 N 5 O, which was synthesized by the reaction of 2-(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)acetohydrazide with acetone, all bond lengths and angles are normal. Weak intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains running along the c axis.
