✦ Synopsis

The relative con®guration of the title compound, C 18 H 27 NO 4 , was determined as being R,S,S,S. There are three crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, which show only slight conformational differences. Molecules in the crystal structure are connected by hydrogen bonds in ribbons along the a axis.
