## Abstract The chiral (π‐allyl)Pd(II) complex [Pd(η^3^CH~3~CHCHCH~2~)(__S, S__‐Chiraphos)]CF~3~SO~3~ was shown to exist in four isomeric forms (two diastereomeric and two geometric). Aspects of their three‐dimensional structures were elucidated using ^1^H, ^13^C and ^31^P one‐ and two‐dimensional

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A ^1^H, ^13^C and ^31^P NMR study of monoethyl (HL1) and monobutyl (HL2) esters of (α‐anilinobenzyl)phosphonic acid and their metallocyclic dipalladium complexes (Pd~2~L~4~,L = L1, L2) in DMSO‐d~6~ was performed, based on 1D and 2D homo‐ and heteronuclear experiments including ^1^H,^13^C,^31^P,APT,^1^H–^1^H COSY, ^1^H–^13^C COSY, gs‐HMQC and gs‐HMBC NMR techniques. The results obtained are discussed with respect to those for some palladium(II) complexes reported for various anilinobenzylphosphonate derivatives. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
