✦ Synopsis

The general treatment paradigm in modern medicine has shifted from a 'one size fits all' approach towards an individualized patient based therapy.

An efficient targeted therapy approach requires powerful diagnostic imaging tools in order to: detect a disease early; to stratify the patient's personal disease status; to select a tailor-made therapy; dose at the right time; and to monitor therapy response early.

The fusion of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) with X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) offers a powerful opportunity to gain such information and forms a strong basis for personalized medicine.

A pre-requisite is the availability of highly selective molecular imaging (MI) PET-tracers designed to target disease specific pathways and pathologies.

BSP uniquely combines: 1) broad disease know-how; 2) expertise in compound generation; 3) radiochemistry; 4) pre-clinical compound evaluation; 5) a leading position in diagnostic imaging.

For a long time, C 2 -symmetric ligands were dominating in asymmetric catalysis. However, more recently it was found that in several metal-catalyzed processes non-symmetric mixed-donor bidentate P,N-ligands are superior to C 2 -symmetric P,P-or N,N-ligands. Especially phosphinooxazolines (PHOX ligan

Recent developments in the area of dearomatising cyclisation include the dearomatisation of 5-and 6-membered heterocycles 10,11 and the stereospecific photochemical rearrangement of the enolate products of the cyclisation to yield norcaradiene and cycloheptadienone ring systems. 12 We have also used
