The r4N electric quadrupole coupling constants and asymmetry parameters have been determined for the three chemically nonequivalent nitrogen sites in 2-cycle-octyl-amino+nitropyridine (COANP) with the help of proton-nitrogen nuclear quadrupole double resonance.

✦ Synopsis
The "N electric quadrupole coupling constants and asymmetry parameters have been detetmioed for the three chemicalIy oooequivalent nitrogen sites in both 4-(N,Ndimethyhunioo)-3-acetamidonitrobeozeoe (DAN) and ( -)-2-(a-methylbenzylomamino)-5-oitropyridine (MBANP) with the help of proton-nitrogen ouclear-quadrupole double resonance.
The nonlinear optical behaviour of organic molecules in the crystalline state has recently attracted a great deal of attention [ 11. One of the largest second-order hyperpolarizabilities has been found [ 2-5] in the nitroaniline derivate C10H13N303 -designated as DAN. Similar values were found in CloH,sN302 (MBANP). The structural formulas of these two compounds are shown in fig. 1 together with the related compound COANP [ 6 1. Both DAN and MBANP crystallize [ 7,8] in the monoclinic space group P2, with two formula units per unit cell (2~2). The unit-cell dimensions [

The temperature dependence of the proton-t4N double resonance spectra demonstrates that thermochromism in solid N-S&lorosalicylideneaniline is accompanied by intramolecular proton transfer and an enol-keto transformation.
The technique of pulsed nitrogen-proton double resonance in the rotating f?ame has been used to determine the electric field gradient (EFG) tensors at the t4N sites in paraelectric (NH&S04. The results show that the NH:-ions are highly distorted and that there are two chemically nonequivalent sets
## Abstract Using high‐field NMR, we have determined the magnitude of the nuclear quadrupole interaction in hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD), the explosive allegedly used in the London bombings of July 2005. The experimental quadrupolar coupling constant, 5.334 MHz, is in good agreement wit
