The complete assignment of the carbon NMR spectra for 14 N-arylphthalisoimides was achieved using the concerted application of one-and two-dimensional NMR techniques. The parameters previously reported in the literature were found to be wrong.

β¦ Synopsis
The 13C NMR spectra of several 1-(2-hydroxymethylcyclopentyl)and 1-(2-hydroxymethylcyclopentylmethyl)uracils and 5halouracils (X ΒΌ Cl, Br or I) were fully assigned with the aid of one-(13C, 1H-1H NOE, DEPT) and two-dimensional (HMQC) NMR experiments.
