The 13CNMR spectra were obtained at 25.2MHz on a Varian XL-100-15 spectrometer, with minor hardware and software modifications to allow phase cycling of the transmitter, operating in the l T mode and using a 620L-100 computer interfaced to a Sykes 7000 dual disk drive. Samples were spun in 5 mm tube

β¦ Synopsis
A general strategy, using well established techniques, is outlined for the assignment of signals in the 13C NMR spectra of the trichothecene mycotoxins and some related rearrangement products. Heteronuclear NOE difference spectra were employed to assign resonances from quaternary carbons. An example of the use of spin-echo J modulation is given.

## Abstract The ^13^C NMR spectral data of 18 eudesmane derivatives, mainly acids and esters of natural and synthetic origin, are reported, and the Ξ³βeffect of the epoxide ring in two diastereoisomeric epoxy esters is discussed.
The carbon-13 chemical shifts of mono-and 1,3-disubstituted adamantanes are reported. The effects caused by the substituents are compared with those met in aliphatic and alicyclic compounds. It is shown that the 1,4-interactions have only minor importance in 1-substituted adamantanes. The influence
