✦ Synopsis

The 13C spin-lattice relaxation time of C6* in carbon disultide was measured at four different frequencies, 50.288, 75.432, 100.576 and 150.864 MHz. A good linear lit of T-' as a function of B,$ is obtained. The small value of the intercept T I' at B=O equal to 3.5 I x 10m4 s-l shows that the chemical shift anisotropy is the dominant term to the relaxation rate over all the frequency range considered. The correlation time r, ( 16 ps) obtained shows that the CW motion may be described through the Stokes-Einstein-Debye model.

(13)C NMR chemical shifts of Sc(3)N@C(80) were computed using quantum Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics simulations, followed by DFT-NMR calculations on a large series of snapshots. Whereas calculations of the C(3) static gas-phase optimized structure fail to reproduce the two-line experimental sp
