High-resolution 13C NMR spectra of 15 samples of uncomplexed and metalcomplexed tetranactin and nonactin were recorded in the solid state, revealing characteristic displacements of peaks due to complex formation and the effect of crystalline packing on the 13C chemical shifts and spidattice relaxati

✦ Synopsis
A method is proposed that allows the determination of the alkyl chain order parameter profile to within a common constant of proportionality in isotropic aggregated lipid or surfactant systems. The method requires the measurements of the ~3C spin-lattice relaxation rates and the nuclear Overhauser enhancements at a single magnetic field strength. As an example, the relative order parameter profile for a micellized glycolipid, viz. l-octyl-fl-D-glucopyranoside is presented.
