Abstract
For three organosodium complexes, namely triphenylmethylsodium(tmeda) (1), fluorenylsodium(pmdta) (2) and fluorenylsodium(tmeda) (3), ^13^C and ^23^Na solid‐state FT‐NMR spectra have been measured for the first time. They were analysed in terms of chemical shifts, δ(^13^C) and δ(^23^Na), and ^23^Na quadrupole coupling constants, χ(^23^Na). It is shown that the NMR parameters are sensitive to the structural features of the complexes and correlate well with the contact ion‐pair structures of 1–3. ^23^Na resonances are shielded by ring current effects of the aromatic ligands. ## Abstract The ^13^C n.m.r. spectrum of benzofuroxan at −15°C is assigned on the basis of selective decoupling experiments and by comparison with the ^13^C chemical shifts of model compounds. The ^13^C spectra were also measured in trifluoroacetic acid as a solvent. From the temperature dependence
