✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C~22~H~25~N~3~O~3~, also known as fumitremorgine C, was isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of Penicillium sp. To a first approximation, the molecule is flat with the exception of the –C(H)=CMe~2~ side arm, which is perpendicular to the remaining atoms. Molecules associate into one-dimensional chains via N—H...O and C—H...O interactions involving both carbonyl O atoms.

The title compound, C 23 H 24 N 4 , was synthesized from 3,3 0diallyl-1,1 0 -propylenedi(benzimidazole) dibromide and NaH in tetrahydrofuran solution. In the molecule, the diazepine ring exhibits a boat conformation.
In the title compound, C 26 H 27 NO 4 , the central ring of the xanthene moiety is planar and the two outer rings are in halfboat conformations. The molecular packing in the crystal structure is stabilized by N-HÁ Á ÁO and C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds in addition to van der Waals forces.
