โœฆ Synopsis

speed liquid chromatography, especially the gel permeation chromatography offers new possibilities for the characterisation of complex mixtures of hydrocarbons like pitch. This method makes possible a qualitative measurement of the molecular weight distribution of quinoline soluble pitch fractions, which gives much more detailed information than the empiric solvent extraction methods. Furthermore promising methods of the quantitative measurement of the molecular weight distribution are shown, i.e. for example the determination of average UV-extinction coeffizient of individual chromatographic fractions in correlation with molecular weight measurements.

The internal-friction peak due to the stress-induced migration of carbon in b.c.c. iron has been studied in a series of high-purity iron-carbon alloys with variations in grain size and intercarbide distance. It is found that when these microstructural parameters are small the height of the carbon da

## Abstract Micromilling is a suitable technique for the manufacturing of microstructured parts. The downscaling of the milling process leads to problems, which are caused by the low stability of microtools and their manufacturing. Understanding the in#uence of the control system on the performance of vibratory gyroscopes is important during the design of such devices. The ability of the control system to reduce the e!ects of resonator imperfections, on the gyroscope performance, was investigated. The analysis of the control p
