✦ Synopsis

supplementary materials sup-2 (0.01 mol) in methanol (30 ml), and 3, 4-dimethoxyacetophenone (0.01 mol) in methanol (30 ml). Single crystals of the title compound suitable for X-ray analysis were grown by slow evaporation of an acetone solution at room temperature.

Refinement

All H atoms were positioned geometrically and allowed to ride on their parent atoms, with C-H distances in the range 0.93-0.96 Å. The U iso values were set equal to 1.5U eq of the carrier atom for methyl H atoms and 1.2U eq for the remaining H atoms. A rotating group model was used for the methyl groups. 9399 Friedel pairs were merged as there is no significant anomalous dispersion to determine the absolute structure.
