In the title mononuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni(C 18 H 21- N 2 O)(NCS)], the Ni II atom is four-coordinated by the phenolate O, imine N and amine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and by the terminal N atom of a thiocyanate anion in a square-planar geometry.
