The angular momentum &ansfer between electronic and heavy particle motion has been studied for resonant electron capture at an energy E,, =lOO eV in wllisions of laser excited Na'(32P,fl, F = 3. MF = f 3) with Na*. The experimental results are compared to calculations employing a quasiclassical Lreaunent with correzt asymptotic conditions assured by a common translation factor and including eight molecular states.
