✦ Synopsis
The trinuclear arene±ruthenium cluster cation [H 3 Ru 3 ( 6 -C 6 H 6 )( 6 -C 6 H 4 MePr i -p) 2 (" 3 -O)] + has been synthesized and crystallized as the hexa¯uorophosphate salt. The cation possesses a mirror plane through the ( 6 -benzene)ruthenium moiety and the " 3 -O atom, and is disordered over a perpendicular mirror plane that includes the three Ru atoms.

The title dinuclear complex, [Ru 2 (C 10 H 14 )Cl 4 H], has twofold symmetry. The terminal Cl atom interacts with three CÐH H atoms of symmetry-related neighbouring molecules. These interactions play a key role in the packing arrangement.
